This unique piece earned a 'Highly Commended' in the Embellished Bowls/Platters category at the 2024 Art of Wood Exhibition. The annual exhibition from the New Zealand Woodworking Association.
Green turned and carved completely by hand from a single piece of Indian bead tree (Melia azederach).
The outer is decorated with Indian ink, chalk acrylic paint, waterbased dye, and sealed with a matte clear acrylic.
The inner is finished with soybean oil, beeswax and carnauba wax.
Dimensions: 23 cm diameter, 10 cm high.
